Gabriel Chernick is an award-winning composer, conductor and jazz pianist from London. He studied Music at the University of Cambridge before starting a Masters in Scoring for Film and Television at the National Film and Television School.

Gabriel has a wealth of experience working in music for Film and TV, and has recently worked as a composer and orchestrator for Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe. Recent projects include Ticket to Paradise (George Clooney, Julia Roberts), The Tomorrow War (Amazon Prime), His Dark Materials Season 2 (BBC/HBO), Rumble (Paramount), Songbird (Amazon Prime), Outside the Wire (Netflix), and more to be announced over the new year.

He also has a diverse history working in musical theatre. Recently, Gabriel worked on Back to the Future The Musical, and the critically acclaimed Operation Mincemeat. Previously, he worked as orchestrator on the Doctor Dolittle The Musical (UK tour), and Beaches The Musical (West End presentation).

Gabriel has worked in a range of genres in live performance. He has been musical director and arranger for numerous operas, including tours around the UK and Saudi Arabia with The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni (Mozart), and The Pirates of Penzance (Gilbert & Sullivan), for the Merry Opera Company. Gabriel was also musical director and composer of Crashtag (pilot for ITV), the Oxford Playhouse Pantomime.

Outside of work for screen and the stage, Gabriel conducts the I Dodici Consort, a professional chamber choir who perform at prestigious venues around Europe, including St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Notre Dame, and St John’s Smith Square. He also runs The Messengers, a high-end function band playing at corporate and private events across the UK.
